1. APPEARANCE

a. Vocabulary:

• Vocabulary attractive (adj) : Causing interest and pleasure = hấp dẫn, có sức hút

=> Ex: One of the most attractive features of Vietnam is traditional food.

• fashionable (adj): Wearing clothes, doing things, and going to places that are cosidered stylish = hợp thời trang

=> Ex: They bought a dress in a fashionable clothes store

• elegant (adj): Graceful in appearance or behavior = tao nhã

=> Ex: She such an elegant businesswomen in a white suit

• filthy (adj): Extremely or unpleasantly dirty = bẩn thỉu

=> Ex: That girls just give me a filthy look

• slender (adj): Thin and delicate, often in a way that is attractive = thon thả

=> Ex: She's on a diet but I think she's already too slender

• well-built (adj): Large, strong = được xây dựng tốt, kết cấu tốt

=> Ex: A weight lifter has a lean, well-built body

• well-dressed (adj): Large, strong = gọn gàng, chỉnh chu

=> Ex: All the members were well-dressed and earned good salaries.

• unkempt (adj): Scruffy, untidy = bù xù

=> Ex: His hair is unkempt so he needs to wash it carefully

b. Advanced Vocabulary

• to be getting on a bit: To be getting old = già đi

=> Ex: My grandpa is getting on a bit . He'll be 99 next birthday.

• to bear a striking resemblance to: To be similar to = trông rất giống với

=> Ex: She bear a striking resemblance to her father, especially her blue eyes.

• never a hair out of place: Well-dressed = gọn gàng, chỉnh chu

=> Ex: She always looks at herself in the mirror before going out, never a hair out of place.

• to look young for your age: To look younger than you are = trẻ hơn

=> Ex: My auntlooks young for her age, I thinks she is ten years younger.

• to look your age: To seem as old as you, not younger or older = nhìn đúng tuổi

=> Ex: Ricky doesn'tlook his age at all, he is more mature than others.

• to get done up: Spruce = ăn mặc lịch sự

=> Ex: He got done up at the party last night.

2. CHARACTER

a. Vocabulary

• introverted >< extroverted = hướng nội >< hướng ngoại

=> Ex: She was as naturally extroverted as Paul was painfully introverted

• considerate: Have a thoughtful personality = có ý thức

=> Ex: She is always polite and considerate towards her employees.

• arrogant: Believe they're better than others = kiêu ngạo

=> Ex: You shouldn't be arrogant .

• decisive: Making choice quickly = có quyết đoán

=> Ex: These results could prove decisive in establishing the criminal's identity.

• optimistic >< pessimistic = lạc quan >< bi quan

=> Ex: She is optimistic about her chances of winning a gold medal

=> Ex: The tone of the meeting was very pessimistic .

• informal: Friendly = thoải mái, thân thiện

=> Ex: Joe is always so polite and respectful. I wish he would be informal and obtimistic even if he had obstacle.

b. Advanced Vocabulary

• to lose one's temper: Show anger = mất bình tĩnh

=> Ex: She lost her temper with a terrible adour

• to be the life and soul of: To be centre = là trung tâm của

=> Ex: Sofia was the life and soul of the party last night because of her bubbly personality.[/PROTECT]
