CLAUSES OF TIME
Mệnh đề trạng ngữ chỉ thời gian thường bắt đầu với các từ nối sau:
- When / as: Khi
- As soon as: Ngay sau khi
- As long as: Chừng nào
- Just as: Ngay khi
- Until/ till: Cho đến khi
- Since: Kể từ khi
- While: Trong khi
- Whenever: Bất cứ khi nào
- Before: Trước khi
- After: Sau khi
- No sooner.. than: Ngay khi - hardly.. when:
- By the time: Vào lúc..
* Note: - Không được dùng thì tương lai (Future tense) trong các mệnh đề trạng ngữ chỉ thời gian (có thể thay bằng thì hiện tại) Một số cấu trúc thường gặp
S + had + V3/ed before/by the time S + V2/ed
By the time + S + Vs/es, S + will have V 3/ed (ngữ cảnh ở hiện tại)
S + V2/ed after S + had + V3/ed
S + had (already/just) + V3/ed when S + V2/ed
S + V2/ed as soon as S + V2/ed
S + have/has V3/ed + O since S + V2/ed.
Nhóm từ: hardly (hầu như không), barely (chỉ vừa đủ, vừa vặn ), no sooner (vừa mới), or scarcely (chỉ mới, vừa vặn) .
