Sau 3 tháng kể từ album đặc biệt "RE-FLOW", ZEROBASEONE đã chính thức trở lại vào ngày 18/5/2026 với mini album thứ 6 "Ascend-". Gồm 7 ca khúc, mini album được dẫn dắt bởi ca khúc chủ đề "TOP 5", mang phong cách R&B pha Dance Pop vui tươi và bắt tai.
Ca khúc nói về 5 điều mà nhân vật chính thích ở người mình yêu: Đôi môi, phong cách, nụ hôn, nụ cười, và quan trọng nhất là cảm giác mà cô mang lại. Bên cạnh đó, 5 điều này cũng có thể hiểu là 5 thành viên, như một lời nhắn nhủ người hâm mộ rằng họ nên tôn trọng quyết định của những người rời đi, trân trọng những người còn ở lại.
"Ascend-" cũng là sản phẩm đầu tiên của nhóm với đội hình 5 thành viên, gồm: Jiwoong, Hanbin, Matthew, Taerae và Gunwook. Trước đó, vào ngày 12/2/2026, công ty chủ quản WAKEONE thông báo 4 thành viên: Zhang Hao, Ricky, Gyuvin và Yujin không tái ký hợp đồng. Họ sẽ ra mắt ở một nhóm nhạc hoàn toàn mới, mang tên "AND2BLE" vào ngày 26/5/2026.
