Đây cũng là ca khúc mở đầu cho album phòng thu thứ sáu "PRINCESS OF POWER" của cô nàng, sắp được phát hành vào ngày 6 tháng 6 năm 2025. Bài hát này là sự kết hợp của các yếu tố âm nhạc như: neo psychedelia, bubblegum pop và dream pop.

Nội dung ca từ trong "BUTTERFLY" khắc họa nên sự thay đổi và chấp nhận bản thân, cũng như hành trình đánh dấu sự trưởng thành của nhân vật chính - được thể hiện qua hình ảnh ẩn dụ của việc tiến hóa trở thành một chú bướm sau khi chui ra khỏi cái kén.
