Phát hành cùng một MV chính thức vào ngày 24 tháng 4 năm 2024, sản phẩm âm nhạc mang tên "Potential" của nam nghệ sĩ Lauv dự kiến sẽ là bài hát đầu tiên nằm trong album phòng thứ thứ ba của anh chàng. Nội dung chính của "Potential" xoay quanh hành trình tiến triển tình cảm của anh chàng cùng với một người bạn nam, trên nền nhạc pop R&B đầy lôi cuốn.

Chia sẻ về bài hát, Lauv nói: "Bài hát nói về việc bạn nhận ra bạn có tình cảm với ai đó và mơ về những tiềm năng có thể xảy ra của tình cảm đó. Đây là sự khởi đầu cho chương truyện tiếp theo mang tính chân thực nhất của tôi, và tôi rất mong chờ được chia sẻ điều này và mọi thứ sắp tới với mọi người". Sự thay đổi này vừa mới lạ lại vừa đáng khen ngợi, đánh dấu một sự thay đổi đáng chú ý trong hành trình khám phá bản thân và con đường hoạt động nghệ thuật của anh chàng.
