It's true that the way we work has changed significantly since the birth of the Internet, which enables more people to work from home instead of travelling to their offices every day. In this essay, I am going to discuss both the benefits and drawbacks of this phenomenon with relevant examples and conclude with my own view.

On the one hand, there are numerous advantages to employees working from home. To begin with, this trend provides people with the flexibility of working time, which is extremely convenient for parents who have small children who require a lot of attention. Workers, for example, can complete the task and take a break whenever and wherever they want. As a result, workers would be able to create their own work schedules. Secondly, because we do not have to travel to our place of work, it helps us to avoid traffic accidents, which are possible to happen to us on our way to work or on our way home from work. Another advantage is that you can work for companies in other countries through the use of the internet. Therefore, people can apply for jobs globally as well as locally.

On the other hand, working from home can also have its drawbacks. One of the most salient negatives of working from home is that people will suffer a lack of discipline. Their work schedule, which can change every day, is determined by their behaviour. For example, when working from home without supervision from other people, those who lack self-control are likely to be distracted by smartphones and social media. This has the potential to reduce their productivity. Furthermore, when we work from home, we may have fewer opportunities to develop skills such as teamwork, effective communication, and leadership, all of which are critical for advancement and promotion. As a result, we are less likely to achieve our career goals and may even miss out on better job opportunities in the future.

In conclusion, communication technology is a promising tool that can improve the current picture of work and employment. However, teleworking should be used with extreme caution to avoid the adverse effects it may have on workers and society. I believe that if properly managed, the benefits would outweigh the drawbacks.
