Được sản xuất bởi beabadoobee cùng Jason Vance Harris và Luca Caruso, "Switchblade" mang âm hưởng Alternative Rock pha lẫn Grunge dồn dập, đậm màu sắc thập niên 1990. Ra mắt vào ngày 14/07/2026, đây là đĩa đơn thứ hai, đồng thời là track thứ 4 trích từ album phòng thu thứ tư "Pylon" của cô.
Ca khúc khắc họa cuộc giằng xé nội tâm dữ dội giữa phản ứng phòng thủ bộc phát và cảm giác kiệt sức dai dẳng. Trong đó, hình ảnh "con dao bấm" đóng vai trò như một cơ chế tự vệ: Sự gai góc xù ra để che giấu những tổn thương chưa lành.
Thay vì tô hồng sự trưởng thành, "Switchblade" mô tả quá trình lớn lên như một chuỗi sai lầm và đổ vỡ nối tiếp. Bài hát bộc lộ sự bất an cùng những cảm xúc tiêu cực trực diện mà không cần đến bất kỳ lời xoa dịu hay sự thỏa hiệp nào.
