Vào ngày 2.5. 2025, chàng ca sĩ người Anh Ed Sheeran đã chính thức cho ra mắt ca khúc Old Phone, ngay sau màn thông báo về chiếc album phòng thu thứ 8 của mình mang tên Play sẽ được phát hành vào ngày 12.9. 2025. Theo anh chàng chia sẻ, Old Phone là nguồn cảm hứng đến bất ngờ đối với anh khi anh đang bị say máy bay và tỉnh giấc lúc 2h sáng. Có thể nói đây là một tuy đây là ca khúc có giai điệu vui tươi nhưng lời bài hát lại rất buồn, bởi Old Phone được Ed miêu tả lại truyền tải đúng những cảm xúc mà bất cứ ai đang giữ một chiếc điện thoại cũ lại bên mình đến thời điểm này - những bức hình, những cuộc trò chuyện, những đoạn tin nhắn, và nhiều những kỉ niệm khác nữa mà không có tiền bạc nào mua được.
