Là sự kết hợp lần đầu tiên giữa hai nghệ sĩ đến Úc grentperez và Ruel, "Dandelion" đã được phát hành vào ngày 15 tháng 1 năm 2025 cùng một music video. Bài hát này là đĩa đơn thứ 3 nằm trong album phòng thu đầu tay "Backflips in a Restaurant", dự kiến sẽ được grentperez ra mắt trong năm nay. Trò chuyện với Triple J, grentperez cho biết album sắp ra mắt sẽ là sự kết hợp của nhiều thể loại nhạc mà anh đã nghe khi còn nhỏ, bao gồm cả cảm hứng đến từ Rex Orange County và Tyler, the Creator.

Thuộc thể loại indie pop, "Dandelion" nói về thứ cảm giác ngọt ngào và cay đắng của nỗi nhớ nhung trong tình yêu. Nhân vật chính đang trong tình cảnh xa cách với người mà họ vô cùng yêu thương, và ca từ trong bài hát đã thể hiện được mong muốn cả hai được gặp lại và ở bên cạnh nhau, bởi lẽ việc hai người không thể ở gần nhau chỉ mang đến u sầu và cô độc mà thôi!
