Nằm vị trí thứ ba và cũng là ca khúc chủ đề cho album phòng thu solo thứ hai cùng tên của thành viên LAY đến từ nhóm nhạc nam EXO, "STEP" được phát hành chính thức vào ngày 14 tháng 6 năm 2024. Phiên bản deluxe của album cũng được ra mắt sau đó vào ngày 25, với ba bonus track bao gồm: "Daisy", "Before You Let Go" và "A Legend"; nâng tổng số track của album lên 13 track nhạc. MV chính thức cho ca khúc với những màn vũ đạo ấn tượng cùng khung cảnh tại Vạn Lý Trường Thành đã được công chiếu sau đó vào ngày 22 tháng 8 năm 2024.

Bài hát thuộc thể loại dance pop, nói về việc ta nắm bắt khoảnh khắc, thoát khỏi vùng an toàn của chính mình và thử sức với những điều mới lạ bất ngờ.
