Bài hát có chứa phần nội suy từ huyền thoại cổ xưa về Icarus, được lấy từ thần thoại Hy Lạp. Thuộc thể loại alternative pop, "Angel On Fire" khắc họa nên những thăng trầm của danh tiếng và sự ngưỡng mộ từ những người khác.
