Overall, it is insurmountable to argue against the fact that competitive sports play an essential role in the development of physical and mental health. In fact, doing exercises would enable people to burn plenty of excess calories so as to prevent the risk of obesity and reduce cardiovascular diseases. On the other hand, according to the Guardian, playing sports every day can stimulate the birth of new neurons, also improve coordination and cognitive abilities. Take, for example, young generations putting football into practice who always have quick reflexes.

In my opinion, competitive sports are vital for students' development in terms of physical and mental health. First and foremost, one cannot deny that regular physical activities benefit health in many ways, including helping build and maintain healthy bones, muscles. Thus, it also would enable people to help control weight, reduce fat and prevent or delay the development of high blood pressure. In reality, exercises that can prevent chronic diseases as effective as mediator is one of the least expensive ways to stay healthy.

Besides that, competitive sports help children's cognitive skills. According to a study that tracks kids from kindergarten through fourth grade, sports are associated with improved academic achievement as standardized test scores. Furthermore, sports activities affect positively attitudes and academic behavior such as enhanced concentration and improve classroom performance.

On the other hand, I agree that sports would be a distraction to students since doing sports take a lot of time, which could be better spent on academic subjects. For example, when it comes to examinations, most students do not know how to balance their time, which leads to reduced performance at school. Besides that, from a competitive perspective, games encourage bad behaviors such as aggressiveness, cheating, and jealousy as well as a violent tendency, all of which are outside the gaming contest and children's fundamental development. Nevertheless, I believe that no one can deny the benefits that physical activities bring. Firstly, one of the biggest merits of playing sports is health. In both physical and mental teams, doing sports regularly helps children relieve stress, prevent heart-related diseases and enhance collaboration which is useful for a healthy lifestyle. For instance, there has been a rise in obesity and the rate of anxiety among children in recent years due to the lack of outdoor activities which accompanies suicide commitment.

Last but not least children also accumulate a variety of losing and winning lessons that help them have a stronger mindset when growing up.
